Welcome to Fale Polynesia LLC, the premier destination for Polynesian dance and music. Our studio is led by directors Ofaloto Kuma and Kanani Asuega, both highly respected figures in the Polynesian Cultral Arts community. We are proud to offer a variety of classes for Polynesians and Polynesian enthusiasts alike, all designed to teach the rich and vibrant cultural heritage of the Pacific Islands. Whether you are looking to learn the basics or hone your skills as a performer, our studio has everything you need to succeed. CLASS DESCRIPTION

Aulelei Class

Aulelei (Ow-Leh-Lay) class is for girls, ages 5-8. This class will focus on the foundation of Polynesian Dances.

Tuesday 

5:30pm

Mahina Class

Mahina (Ma-He-Nuh) class is for girls, ages 9-13. No experienced required. This class will focus on the foundation of the Polynesian Dances. 

Tuesday

6:30pm

Mahana Class

Fenua (Fay-New-Ah) class is for young-adult woman, ages 14+. No experience required. This class will focus on the foundation of Polynesian Dances.

Fenua Class

Mahana (Muh-Hon-Uh) class is for experienced dancers, ages 9-13. This class will focus on competition training, show prep, and creative projects.

Monday & Wednesday 

6pm

Hine Class

Hine (He-Neh) Class is for experienced dancers, ages 14+. This class will focus on competition training, show prep, and creative projects. 

Monday & Wednesday 

7pm

Lokelani Class

Lokelani (Low-Kay-Law- Knee) class is a low-intensity class geared to but not limited to Woman ages 40+ or with pre-existing injuries or disabilities. This class will focus on the fundamentals of Polynesian Dances at a slow pace. No floor work or aggressive use of knees.

Tama Class
 


Tama (Tah-Mah) class is for little warriors, ages 5-10. This class will focus on the foundation of Polynesian Dances. Great for young athletes working on footwork and hip mobility.

Malosi (Mah-Low-See) class is for young- adult men, ages 11+. This class will focus on the foundation of Polynesian Dances. Great for young athletes working on footwork and hip mobility.

Drum Class open to ages 12+ for now.. Younger age classes TBD.

First class is free! Enrollment is every 3 months 

 

Hine / Fenua -  $60 for 6-8 classes per month

 

Mahana / Mahina / Aulelei / Lokelani - $45 per month - 4 classes a month

 

Family discount (must be on the same card on file)

2 person family $5 off each person

3+ person family $8 off per person

All payments will be placed on an automatic payment

Additional costs will include class uniform & costumes

Join us for our upcoming Open House, where you can learn more about our studio, meet our instructors and fellow dancers, and discover all of the exciting classes and programs we have to offer. Session 1 Classes begin June 3- August 15, 2024 

Next Enrollment period July 22, 2024

Session 2 Classes begin September 2- November 7, 2024

Next Enrollment period November 11-30

Winter Course will take place December 2- 19, 2024

Our Team 

Ofaloto Kuma
Meet 'Ofalota Kumā

Ofaloto was born and raised in Fresno, Ca. His family hails from the beautiful Kindom Of Tonga. Some of his greatest accomplishments include performing  in Tahiti's most prestigious competition, Heiva I Tahiti, as a drummer with the dance troupe Nonahere. Throughout his entire life, Ofaloto has been a professional musician, conducting and performing Lu'au style shows across the USA, as well as composing Award-Winning Tahitian Drum pieces. His most recent victory was taking home Best Music & Drumming at California’s largest Tahitian Cultural Arts competition, Tahiti Fete I San Jose 2023. Ofaloto has also shared his knowledge in music/drumming through workshops in Fresno, Orange County, Colorado, North Carolina, London, and Mexico.  Lastly, Ofaloto is one of the very few Tahitian Drum Makers in the world. He specializes in Tari Parau, Fa'atete, Pahu Tupa'i.
